About Us

Principal: Mrs Nicola Dawson (Miss Nikki)
Miss Nikki completed her dance training at The Margaret Howard Theatre College (now Momentum), where she qualified as a dance teacher with the I.S.T.D. 
She began her dance training at Pinner Theatre Dance at the age of four and has over 20 years teaching experience. She is also a qualified Zumba Instructor.

After completing her A-Levels she started work for a record label and at 19 was organizing tours at The Royal Albert Hall and across the country. She also worked on the radio and TV before returning to college to study to become a qualified dance teacher. 

Nikki teaches a variety of styles including Tap, Modern/Jazz, Street Dance, Contemporary, Zumba, Musical Theatre and Ballet.

She is keen to pass on her knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm to all her students and budding performers everywhere! 
Nikki's passion has always been teaching and it was a lifetime dream to own her own dance school.

On a personal level Nikki is married and has 2 children, a daughter called Sienna and a son called Harry, both are now students of the school.

Marta Micallef (Miss Marta):
Marta began her training at the age of 4 at Pinner Theatre Dance, where she was taught by Miss Nikki as a teenager. 

In addition to her ISTD dance teaching qualifications, Marta also holds a BAHons in Theatre Practice from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. This has led her to work as a scenic artist on productions for West End Theatres like the London Coliseum and Noel Coward, as well as on overseas productions for New York and Shanghai. 

Marta is very pleased and excited to be working alongside Miss Nikki, and teaching at The Village School of Dance.

All our teachers believe that hard work, discipline and determination are essential and we encourage all pupils to believe in themselves and to strive to be their very best.

We offer examinations with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D.) examining board, annual shows, local performances, competitions and much more!


Dancing is a great way for people of all ages to get and stay in shape. Besides being fun, and a great social activity, dancing has many positive health benefits including:
Improving flexibility, strength, endurance and a creating a sense of well-being! You develop your musicality, sense of rhythm and timing, enhance cognitive ability and improve your mood!


Studying dance and Musical  Theatre has a lot of personal benefits for students. It helps with building self-confidence, speaking in public, and developing interpersonal skills. Through drama you can become anyone, anywhere, at anytime. By understanding drama you can learn to understand anyone, anywhere anytime.
The uniqueness of the Musical Theatre is that it combines all three skills, dancing, acting and singing, making it more engrossing, exciting and also more demanding.
